The Farm "Podere Bello"
We produce in an uncontaminated land full of sun, the Upper Maremma, where the sun and the soil give more flavor to the fruits. The farm covers about 25 hectares, located in a hilly area of the Tuscan inland.
A leader in the field of organic farming since 2000, producing oil and cereals, in the last year it has also decided to transform cereals into finished products.
Our goal is to offer a high-quality product while at the same time ensuring food safety for the consumer with product traceability and the guarantee of a healthy product.
The farm is controlled and certified by ICEA (Institute for Ethical and Environmental Certification) under EC Regulation 2092/91.
The farm cultivates exclusively and strictly ancient varieties of wheat such as:
Durum Wheat Senatore Cappelli (the most produced durum wheat)
Emmer (Farro Dicoccum)
Soft Wheat Gentil Rosso, Abbondanza, Verna, and Frassineto.
Remarkable is the production of legumes used in the crop rotation system, such as lentils, chickpeas, and black chickpeas, always cultivated strictly according to organic farming methods.
Legumes, being nitrogen-fixing, bring nitrogen from the air into the soil, so we do not use organic fertilizers. Furthermore, the “Senatore Cappelli” wheat, like all ancient wheats, with their height and developed root system, suppress weeds, making them essential in organic farming.
To give you the best in quality and genuineness of the products, Mr. Andrea Funghi personally and carefully oversees all the cultivation, production, and processing phases into products such as flours, artisanal pasta, and other cereal derivatives. Since 2016
